ANCHOR PROJECT
Zahn’s Farm AD Facility, Wisconsin
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Aerogy has successfully closed financing and commenced construction on an anchor investment near Gillett, Wisconsin, an anaerobic digestion (AD) facility converting dairy manure into RNG, anticipated to produce over 200,000 MMBTu of RNG per year.
The project uses technology from DVO Inc., the leading on-farm AD technology provider in the US. Our partner, P & E Solutions, will provide EPC services.
AD is a biological process in which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in an oxygen-deprived environment, producing biogas as a by-product. Biogas is then cleaned up and through the AD process, methane—a far more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide—is captured and prevented from entering and damaging the atmosphere. By sequestering the methane naturally being released from dairy manure, the associated RNG from this project has net lifecycle carbon emissions that are significantly below zero.
